Find seven lords that we've never seen before, never see again, and aren't really given much reason to care about. I think the movie makers wanted to make something more in the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter style, with a clear cut villain and a set of plot tokens that need to be collected to defeat the villain. I'm not too sure how well that worked.

Still, I did enjoy the movie. The lovely rendition of the Dawn Treader itself was worth half the movie. While some have complained that the CGI and the 3D effect were not quite up to par, I think that the movie makers did a wonderful job with the visual aspect of things, to include costuming and props. Reepacheep remains awesome. Eustace had some great lines.Jason Anoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-73404770408475356572010-12-12T14:58:17.853+00:002010-12-12T14:58:17.853+00:00Yes, I didn't much like the way the mist was u...Yes, I didn't much like the way the mist was used to try to shornhorn a bad guy in to a story that doesn't really have one. I love Dark Island in the book, it's so wonderfully creepy, I thought it lost something by being used in that way.Juliettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00203399623895589924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-22456314791506457452010-12-12T13:43:01.801+00:002010-12-12T13:43:01.801+00:00I saw the film this afternoon. I found the whole mist that swallows people up and is going to take over the world a bit trying, but then I've always found the idea of the island where your dreams really do come true sent a shiver down my spine.

As for the ending, I got a bit weepy at Edmund and Reepicheep's farewell as well, but it was more the memory of the book's ending kicking in rather than the film itself.RWMGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04271851970303022440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-55783901872161196322010-12-10T08:24:41.110+00:002010-12-10T08:24:41.110+00:00I will be taking my children to see the latest Nar...I will be taking my children to see the latest Narnia movie over the holiday.
