When I was 8 or 9 there was a BBC adaptation, which was amazing, and there was a R4 adaptation a few years ago. Warrior Scarlet is great as well, about an iron age boy who is disabled and fails in his initiation to kill a wolf.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536038271600515021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-26302534895336060862011-02-24T10:16:53.631+00:002011-02-24T10:16:53.631+00:00I've never read them I'm afraid - I really...I've never read them I'm afraid - I really must read at least the first one at some point, but I don't think I'll have time until after I've seen The Eagle - but on the upside, I'll be able to review the film on its own merits without constantly comparing it to the book!Juliettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00203399623895589924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-36944304878337462362011-02-24T10:10:04.994+00:002011-02-24T10:10:04.994+00:00Gah! dragging...Gah! dragging...Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536038271600515021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-52061043501874887962011-02-24T10:09:00.732+00:002011-02-24T10:09:00.732+00:00I'm enjoying it so far! I loved them as a child, and re-read a couple (The Eagle of the Nineth, The Silver Branch and The Lantern Bearers) recently- I recommended the latter to Martin Amis in my most recent post! They certainly got me interested in Roman history, and my parents kindly put up with me gragging them to the Museum of London to look at the Roman wall there when I was about 10.Alihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02536038271600515021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730513615909994019.post-69914394003971325842011-02-21T14:58:38.843+00:002011-02-21T14:58:38.843+00:00Thanks Rebecca!
